4 Ways To Make Your Boudoir Photo Shoot Less Stressful
A boudoir photo shoot can be a nerve-wracking event. Not only are you wearing little clothing, but all of things that you consider to be imperfections are on display. While it might seem like an incredibly vulnerable thing to do (and it is), a boudoir photo shoot is actually quite empowering.
Whether you’re choosing to take boudoir photos for a wedding present, your significant other, or so you have beautiful pictures of yourself that you’ll want to keep forever, your boudoir photos are a powerful celebration of a moment in your life. The key to a successful boudoir photo shoot is finding a boudoir photographer that you connect with and trust. You want someone that you feel comfortable around – especially if you’re choosing to wear lingerie or go nude or semi-nude. The right boudoir photographer will make you feel comfortable, ensure that the day go as smoothly and productively as possible, work within your budget, and figure out new ways to capture you in the most flattering light possible.
If you’ve already found your dream photographer, great! You’re one step closer to your boudoir photo shoot. Just like your photographer, we want you to feel comfortable, happy, and amazing on your photo shoot day (hopefully in one of our stunning lingerie sets no less!)
Nervous about your boudoir photo shoot? Don’t be! Here are four ways to make your photo shoot day less stressful:
1. Arrive early
You’ve found your photographer, paid the deposit, and shopped for your wardrobe for photo shoot day. Since you’ve already invested so much into this, the worst thing you can do is show up late on photo shoot day. If the location is close to your home, scope it out ahead of time for parking. Then, plan to arrive early on the day of the photo shoot so you have the full time that you’ve paid for.
2. Bring a friend
Don’t want to go alone? Bring a friend! Bringing a positive, trustworthy friend along that has your best interests at heart can help ease your anxiety. Sometimes you just need someone there for support and a best friend is a good call for photo shoot day. Plus, she knows all of your angles and can take behind the scenes shots so you’ll have even more photos of that special day!
3. Only wear what makes you feel good
We suggest trying everything on before the photo shoot and bringing back up options (extra bras, panties, stockings, etc.) just in case. If you bought a bra and panty set and no longer feel amazing in it on the day of the photo shoot, swap it for something else. You deserve to feel incredible – avoid anything that zaps your confidence because it will show through in the photos.
4. Communicate with your photographer
Feeling nervous? Let your photographer know! Being open and honest with your photographer will help the day go as smoothly as possible. This is why it’s so important to pick a photographer that you feel comfortable with. If there’s a pose that you don’t like or a position that feels uncomfortable at the shoot, let him or her know. The same goes for if you need to stop for a short break, or water, or to go the bathroom. Don’t feel like you need to power through if you need a break or you’re ready for an outfit change. It’s your day – enjoy every moment of it!
